Sunday 2000-8-13
Everyone had so been looking forward to the Kralova Hola runway that on Sunday it just couldn't be held back anymore. And further, the southwest wind seemed weaker than yesterday. But on the runway at 1946 m above sea level a rlatively strong southwest wind blew, and a certain hesitation came about while deciding on an applicable event.

 Briefing at Kralova hola

"It's only blowing here and no place else", Honza Krofta cleverly put an end to all discussion, and a course of 60 km total distance with a turning point at the ramp on Zadna Hola hill and the Kralova Hola transmitter and the goal at the village of Polomka was announced. The first two kick-off flyers were already sloping some 100 m above the crest in a strong wind and so there was nothing to wait for.

Gradually huge cumulous clouds began to form and at the moment a really large one of them covered virtually the entire valley in the region of Sumiac village, the favorites started off.

The cloudiness gradually increased the tops the cumulous clouds rose to constantly greater heights and the first thundering sounded. Racers started to hurry with taking off.

 Above the hill

The horizon East of the runway completely blackened and the first lightning bolts began to fly. Fortunately the flight direction was West.

The wind gradually increased and gloom began to spread across the beginners' faces. But except for the replacement of a broken trapeze, which was broken again in a landing maneuver in the valley anyway, everyone took off successfully.

 Tomáš Jiránek is taking off

"Dan turned Kralovka!", was heard at 15:20 on the 147.52 MHz frequency, and it was possible to predict that Dan's lead at the head of the race will increase again today. Followed by Mira Cap, he really did show up after 2 hours and 26 minutes with a minimal reserve of altitude above the goal line, while Mira lacked about 100 m of altitude for a successful attainment of the goal and he was forced to land 1300 m in front of the goal line.

 Dan Vyhnalík above the goal

Then with a marked time loss five other pilots gradually flew into the goal led by Honza Matejovsky and Radek Dykast.

Already long before his arrive his new underage friend looked out for Petr "Pedro" Nedomu at the goal, and after his landing both were obviously glad to be finally together again.

Dan Vyhnalik's lead at the head of the race had already increased to 762 points and because Vlada Koretz lacked 3 km to the goal today, he fell to 4th place in the overall placing.
