Saturday 9.07.05
"Finished the boarding please, the doors are going to close now!" some of Czech pilots shouts a because one truck is missing after yesterday's accident, the whole racing field is pushed on three decks the last day. The temperature increased a bit in contrast to yesterday and the wind blows from the south again.

For lack of time organisers declare only 51.7km long task zig-zag over three turning points around the taking off zone. A goal will be located at the eastern periphery of Nis city. A starting window is open at ten to two and the air start forty minutes later.

At first it's relatively difficult to raise up above the taking off area in today's hot air but the conditions improve later on and the leading group of pilots appears above the taking off point again after coming back from the first turning point at half past two. Thermals reach over 2300 meters above sea level and 86 of pilots reach the goal finally today.

The best time has Mathias Roten from Switzerland and thus he becomes a winner of today's task. Urban Valic from Slovenia landed seventeen seconds later and Denis Cortella from France another seven seconds after him.

 Winners of the competition

 Winners of the women category

 Ewa Wisnierska

The winner of the competition is Christian Maurer from Switzerland, Charles Cazaux from France is the second and Luciano Tcacenco Bender from Brazilia finished as the third.

Ewa Wisnierska from Germany is the winner of women category, Karin Appenzeller from Switzerland is the second and Petra Krausova from Czech Republic finished as the third.

Swiss pilots were the best national team and they left Czechs and Frenchmen behind them.

My final thanks belong to the Albatros Nis club for its help with my everyday work and I have to thank primarily a local girl with a bit strange name Milica not only for a patient putting me in the most of local habits and rather unusual traditions but also for nice home-made wine which I got extra with me to the road. Well, maybe next time in Srrbia again, where someone can stay in a village house with pleasant people for 5 Euro per night, where a quota system of diesel oil manages to make cars of tourists immobile until they find out, that everything can change after one bottle of Rakija spirit or after a considerable surcharge of every litre and where Christmas are celebrated only in January.
