A heavy tragedy hit the entire Czech expedition when after weak scoring throughout the previous days, Marcel Konečný decided to leave Slovenia. The organizers searched for him in vain yesterday, when he didn't even turn in his flight report. He was last seen around 3 p.m. near the stadium, with his backpack on and a worried and harassed look on his face.

Worried this morning however are even Mirek "Radar" Stěhula and Milan Kameníček, after seeing the posted results. Both of their GPS instruments yesterday suffered Tracklog memory failure during a long flight and gradual erasing of the beginning of the flight began taking place. This cost them a record of flying over the starting point and the subsequent penalty was big.

The wind on the starting ground is exactly as it was yesterday and sky is a clear blue, although a slight mist decreases the visibility a bit. At the briefing, a 69km long discipline is announced, with four turning points and a goal at the stadium in Tolmin.

Today we're flying a "Speed run", so that everyone can fly over the starting point, or marker as it's called, at their own discretion, though only between 13:30 to 14:30, when it is open. Time is measured separately for each pilot and the start window is open from 12:30 to 13:30.

Once again, today it is no problem to catch a riser on the slope, but getting up to the decisive altitude for flying off is not so easy. The risers, similar to yesterday, are narrow and turbulent.

Cloud bases in today's slightly damp air are forming at altitudes of around 1900 to 2000 meters above sea level and the peak of Krn is hopelessly drowning in clouds. The thermals gradually increase during the course of the afternoon and there are uncounted numbers of crumpled chutes. The first group of racers approaches the goal at great speed, shortly after 16>00, that is more than an hour early than yesterday.

Two Slovenian pilots, Primož Lajevec and Matej Jocif, arrive at the goal almost simultaneously, but because time is measured individually for each pilot, the winner of today's round is Ondřej Dupal with a time of 2 hours and 28 minutes. Fifty-two racers overall land gradually at the stadium, 15 of which are Czech.
The sun begins setting before 19:00, the goal line is long cleared away, a football game is taking place on the grass and, following a five-hour flight, Karel Vrbenský flies into the goal at the stadium. And because even the favorites, Jurij Vidic, Norman Lausch and Tomáš Brauner, made it to the goal, no dramatic changes took place in the overall placing of the race. After today only four of our pilots remained in the top ten.
