Those who got up early this morning could have seen the last remains of blue sky through sleep-bleary eyes. The others woke up under an even cloud cover the rapidly moved from southeast across Mala Fatra. And because even the temperature dropped noticeably, the hangar restaurant quickly filled up and the most popular dish was the hot gulash and warm drinks.

 Something warm to drink ...

At the 11:00 a.m. briefing the most successful pilots from yesterday were rewarded. Mirek "Radar" Stehula for reaching the goal and Pavel Chroust for the longest flight in the Hobby category. But because it didn't seem like it would rain and a weak southeast wind blew directly at the starting ground, the organizers announced a competition for the afternoon in landing precision, for material prizes, and an extra 1,000 Slovak Crowns for the victor. And while the weekend tourists spent Saturday morning flying down into the valley, the racers fed their strength in the hangar for the upcoming test of nerves.

 Morning flight

After noon the cloud cover surprisingly broke apart, the sun began to shine, the South wind picked up and even the thermics began to wake up. Due to local farm crops, the cross with eh landing target wasn't placed on the usual landing field, down by Teplicka, but on a huge, warmed and slanted meadow directly beneath the southeast starting ground.

The variety of racers around the landing ground target was often surprisingly large and there was no shortage of breakneck stunts.

The most exact performance was delivered by Dusan Kultan who cleverly landed stepping on the bull's eye with his huge boot. And because no one else was able to repeat this performance, Dusan won his registration fee back.

After 4 p.m. a huge cumulonimbus grew over the baked valley of Vahu and within half an hour rain began to fall on Zilina, accompanied by loud thunder. But by now all were gradually arriving at Stranik, in anticipation of tonight's party at the hangar restaurant.

The precision landing competition and its evaluation bore no influence on the overall placing of the race. The meteorologists predicted improved weather for Sunday and Monday, and it's possible that Tuesday, the reserve day, will be used as well.
