The morning weather far exceeded that of yesterday in wind speed and cloudiness. The temperature on Stranik dropped below 10°C and it began to drizzle. Not fit for a dog up above and the prediction for tomorrow wasn't any better. That is why at 11:00 a.m., at the saddle below Stranik it was decided to end the race and all moved to camp Varin where at 1p.m. the announcement of the race results was planned at a local restaurant.
Tomas Lednik became the uncontested winner of this year. In last year's race he'd come in second place. This year he let no one take his victory an so simultaneously he became the winner in the professional category as well.

Juraj Kleja came in second overall, lacking just two points on Tomas Lednik. SO he also took 2nd place in the professional category. Juro knows his stuff, which can be verified by looking at the Australian Bright Open in Manila. It is said, however, that the key to his success, not only on the Paragliding field, is held by his "personal assistant".

Third place was taken by Petra Krausova, who hadn't, unfortunately, participated last year.

Simultaneously she was also awarded 3d place in the Professional Category.

First place in the Hobby category went to the hopeful Peter Borgulav, who already 2 years ago took 3d place in the Victoria Cup 1999 competition in Donovaly and we'll undoubtedly be hearing of him again soon.

Second place in the Hobby category went to Pavel Chroust and third place to Karel Vrbensky. In the women's category Hanka Matyaskova followed at 2nd place and Monika Gburova-Tranzikova in third.
The weather for this year's Paragliding Cup Stranik was nowhere near as favorable as last year. What can one do? At least two good disciplines were flown and for all the less flying there was more after flight analysis to make up for it.

So the Victoria Cup on the 2nd of June, in Donovaly, The Championship of the Czech republic in Slovenia, August 4th at the IPC Cup on Chopok and next year up here on Stranik ...
