Friday 22.07.05
An activity around headquarters begins noticable later this morning after yesterday's heavy cheese party and some pilots admit they had never tasted such a quantity of various cheeses in their life before as they did yesterday. The strong wind roaring in treetops calmed down during last night gradually and small developing clouds are blown over the ridge above the valley early morning.

Bells in a village chime noon just at the moment when organizers declare 64.5km long task with four turning points. A goal is situated at a landing zone in Suello village, as usual. In view of possible development of thunderstorms in the afternoon the two hours long starting window is open at half past twelve already and the air starting circle half an hour later.

"Window is open!" a loud shout is heard and after five minutes of silent hesitating pilots take off so fast that almost no competitor stays at the taking of point 15 minutes later. However under a cloudbase, which forms a bit lower in today's moister air than the day before yesterday, it starts to be crowded suddenly and paragliders appear flying away from the inside the cloud with big ears from time to time. But the only one Slovenian pilot Urban Valic will be penalized as we will see later in the evening.

While the advance towards the west side located first turning point is very fast, the reaching of the second one afar from the mountains at a flat land forces some pilots to land prematurely. A flight on the relatively short fourth leg of the route against the west wind proves to be very difficult too. Altogether 48 of pilots reached the goal in Suello at last.

Swiss pilot Christian Maurer has the best time in the goal and thus he becomes a winner of today's task. Next Swiss pilot Hans Bollinger arrives one minute behind him and Oliver Rössel from Germany is next minute late roughly.

Christian Maurer leads the total ranking of this competition, Czech pilot Martin Orlik moved to the second position and Max Jeanpierre from France is the third after this day. Ewa Wisnierska flew very fast today and thus she reduced an advantage of leading Petra Krausova to 34 points only. Marina Olexina is the third in women category now.

And I can't forget to remember Italian girls from Suello and a vicinity to the organizer of the Czech Championship Honza Habermann. They will certainly come to see him to Tolmin next month and they send him a message saying that he ought to think over his marriage ("matrimonio") carefully, which is prepared to the next week.
