Thursday 1.09.05
"It's not allowed even to joke at this," everybody is whispering to one of pilots who has allowed to notice that if there is no wind today it could start to rain in the afternoon for change. But the weather looks really flyable today and the crowded bus departs up to Kobala taking off point before nine in the morning already.

"They don't look so ugly after all," objects someone but I know about him that he has spent 14 days in Slovenia already and his sight is blur and his mind is absolutely numb. A girl hides herself and a boy is hitch hiking on the route. This is a typical picture of Slovenian girls attraction which is much more evidential than any photograph. Anybody can tell what he wants.

At the noon briefing 74.4km long task is declared which spans four turning points together. At firts pilots have to fly along the valley of Soca river to the west side over Volarje and Kobarid to Polovnik, then back to Tolmin, to the west side over Kuk to Polovnik afterwards and finally back to a goal in Dreznica village. Ninety minutes long starting window is open at one o'clock and a starting point one hour later.

 Landing in Dreznica village

Too abundant cloudy weather and cloudbases at a height of only 1600 meters above sea level make the flight on the first leg of the route harder and 41 of pilots altogether are forced to land before reaching the first turning point. Meanwhile exhibits wingovers above the goal beside Dreznica church the winner of today's task Slovenian pilot Gasper Prevc at half past four, Czech Martin Orlik lands two minutes later and Poland pilot Marcin Tobiszewski arrives nearly one minute afterwards. Altogether 36 of pilots have landed in the goal of today's task at last.

"I have flown very fast deliberately to leave the race behind soon," reveals in absence of journalists Petra Krausova who reached the goal as the fourth but she doesn't suppose that publicists find out everything at last. Particularly thanks to the hectolitre of red wine which was given by Gradient company to fortify a party in Dreznica.

"Don't blame me for for the curved route," Karel Vrbensky tries to argue while nine drunk passengers come every next hairpin closer and closer to unavoidable turning their stomaches. Pilots will wake up very late tomorrow morning, without any doubt.
