Production of Moravian demijohns is sponsored by Gradient
Moravian Demijon 2004

At Novy Jicin, 4th December 2004
Moravian demijons are filled with wine by MAC Para Technology

"I would have come even if I hadn't invited!" a Moravian paraglider made his voice heard yesterday and now I can see him entering with a broad grin on his face. He is late I know but he is here now. On the contrary Jakub Eifler alias Bukac, the star of the last year, decided not to drink and he stayed at home cowardly.

As every year so this time Gradient from Prague sponsored production of six glass demijohns and MAC Para Technology from Roznov filled them up with nice wine. They are two sorts of white wine inside of six demijohns this year - Veltlinske zelene and Ryzlink vlassky. In contrast to the last year we decided to exchange Cerveny kamen lodge in a forest above Koprivnice town for a larger restaurant Tatrovanka at Novy Jicin town. The lodge couldn't hold 160 people with theirs tongues hanging out not with the best will in the world.

The couple of Karel Vrbensky and Dalibor Carbol begins the traditional afternoon projection. They came back from this year's flying abroad with an interesting movie without subtitles, which particularly talks about medical plants grown in Kyrgyzstan. A deafening starting shot is heard in the hall shortly after 6 p.m. The owner of the restaurant, Honza Jilek, made us free of his property and adjacent rooms and we not only thank to him but we have to admire him too. A compere Karel Vrbensky takes a microphone in his hand and we can get started.

Pavel Kvarda from Brno takes the first Moravian demijohn in the Paragliding category thanks to the straight distance flight of 136km and Dan Vyhnalik from Prague won the same size of the demijohn in the Hanggliding category thanks to his FAI triangle with a value of 255.3 marks. His collection now includes five various demijohns together and they say his Prague family is fairly pleased to use these glass vessels in a house.

Pavel Dohnalek from Holesov won the second Moravian demijohn in the Paragliding category thanks to the straight distance flight of 132km and the same sized Moravian demijohn in the Hanggliding category takes Stanislav Pecha from Ratiskovice village near Hodonin. The value of his FAI triangle was 111.5 marks. This is his second demijohn, he took the first one (a capacity of 20 liters) in a year of 2002.

Premysl Sixta from Prague takes the third Moravian demijohn in the Paragliding category. He made a straight distance flight of 120km and this is already his second demijohn. He took the first one in a year of 2000. Radek Dykast from Hamr near Litvinov won the third Moravian demijohn in a Hanggliding category this year thanks to a straight distance flight of 107km and now he misses the biggest demijohn in his large collection only. Maybe he'll succeed in it next year ...

'I brings good news - all of demijohns are drunk up!' Rene Matus claims twelve past 11 p.m. A delicious goulash is eaten up completely and a roasting of sousages and steaks isn't fast enough to feed hangry mouths. The traditional Kondor Band plays the music in a neighbouring room for dear life. And here we are! It took six years of waiting for the appropriate crowd which manages to drink 70 litres of wine at one fling. And all in five hours, which poses the average of 14 liters per hour! Pretty consumption.

'I'd like to walk me too,' an owner of a demijohn blabbers and tries to persuade a blond girl, who passes by. Sadly he isn't successful. Petra goes outside with her dog on a leash only. Anyway, the number of dogs, blond girls and staggered pilots seems to increase year after year ...
