Thursday 23.03.06
Even a butterfly doesn't desire to fly in the lasting heat and some pilots even become so stupid that they assume their mediocre positions to be a great success. There is no chance to fly a fair discipline under today's overclouded sky but after the long waiting the starting window is open at 0.35 at last. The task is 54 kilometers long and it spans two turning points.

As supposed, just staying in the air is very difficult today and 60 of pilots land on the first 10 kilometers long leg of today's route gradually. Conditions improve a bit late afternoon but nobody succeedes in a reaching the goal.

 After briefing

Swiss pilot Andy Aebi reaches 48th kilometer and he becomes, as yesterday, the winner of today's discipline, leaving the second Christian Maurer 200 meters behind. Brazilian pilot Glayson de Castro stayed 300 meters back. Keiko Hiraki won The Women Category (46km), Ewa Wisnierska was the second (36km) and Noriko Mizunuma the third (32km).

There are noticeable changes in the total ranking today. Christian Maurer, the last year's winner, is the first, Tomas Brauner shifts himself to the second position and thus he vacates his yesterday's third position to Martin Orlik.
