Friday 24.03.06
The last but one day of the first PWC competition proves to be noticeably racing one after miserable yesterday at last. Two hours long starting window is open at 11.30 already and today's task leads over three turning points, 55.2 kilometers in total.

A thermal activity is very strong at noon and most of pilots notice big troubles at small taking off area Uba. Peter Vrabec even shows a special lifting above the taking off point twisted back towards the flight direction.

The thermal activity grows stronger during the day and there are lifts over 5m/s up to a height of 2000 meters after 3 o'clock. Just three pilots, surprisingly two local Brazilians, land before the minimum distance of 30km today and more than half of the racing field successfully reaches the last leg of the route finally. But this part leads straight against the wind and far from all pilots succeed in forcing through it.

From all number of 34 pilots in the goal Paul Schmit from Belgium reaches the best time 2 hours 37 minutes and thus he becomes the winner of today's task. Swiss Christian Maurer lands in the goal some 3 minutes after him, leaving the next Swiss Mathias Roten 3 minutes behind. Anja Kroll from Switzerland, the winner of the women category, was the only one woman in the goal, Eliane Ueltschi was 4 kilometers short of the goal today and Czech girl Martina Pospisilova stayed 3 kilometers behind Eliane.

There are no changes in the first three positions of the total ranking at all. Just the advantage of leading Christian Maurer is a bit higher against Tomas Brauner and Martin Orlik after this day. And because this evening is the last one before the end of the competition tomorrow, all pilots rush to dance at the disco after dark. Maybe some of them secretly hope it rains tomorrow.
