Tuesday 07.11.06
Even the early morning departure for the take off point, which we had to reach struggling through a sugar cane field (without machetes), didn't cause anything revolutionary at all. As usual, the sky becomes completely overcast at ten o'clock and even though the sun always shines over the sea, it looks like a heavy rain is going to fall on the island. The first pilot takes off for 62 kilometers long task shortly after ten because the organiser will definitely close the window at eleven already.

It's drizzling under dark cloudbases occasionally and 26 of all pilots are forced to land before reaching the 25th kilometer. Even excellent pilots are among them - Martin Orlik, Ewa Wisnierska, Urban Valic, Karel Vrbensky, Keiko Hiraki and Kaoru Ogisawa.

 Martin Orlik is very hungry

 The winner is landing

Karel Vrbensky - alive, healthy, young and handsome

Perhaps, nobody is surprised that after two hours and twenty minutes reaches the goal French pilot again. Moreover, his name is Gregory Blondeau as yesterday and thus he is the winner of today's task. Swiss pilot Christian Maurer arrives ten seconds later and next Swiss pilot Stephan Morgenthaler half a minute past Christian. Today's difficult conditions were why less pilots than yesterday reached the goal at last.

Christian Maurer leads the total ranking of the fifth competition, Gregory Blondeau is the second and Primoz Podobnik is the third. Petra Krausova is in the lead od Women category with a big advantage. The last year's winner Ewa Wisnierska has been searching for her good shape so far after her cured injury.
