 At the take off point

Saturday 11.11.06
As if inhabitants of Reunion Island suspect the last day of the competition and of the PWC 2006. The closed all shops and proclaimed national holiday today. Looking at cloudy sky the last year's winner of PWC Christian Maurer takes flippers, glasses and schnorkel with him up to the hill, telling everybody he would try another way of flying today. Shortly before the start window is open, he shows his sea equipment in the air. Of course, he is sure of his victory and therefore he is in good mood. Perhaps, he is even looking forward to the first competition of PWC 2007 which will take place in Japan in April.

As wel as yesterday, the window is open shortly before ten but in view of weak conditions nobody is expected to reach the goal. Because of the overcast sky and the strong wind along the last leg of the route the best pilots are really forced to land about ten kilometers before the goal line. Thus the goal remains unpeopled, as well as yesterday.

See you next time on Reunion Island!
