Tuesday 24.05.2005
While a good part of Czech Republic recovers from a flood and people at Pelhrimov even search for cars washed away, nothing fatal happened in the Krkonose Mountains. The dinning hall in Pension Kukacka is unpeopled at eight again and apart from a rustle of Labe river down under the slope a dead silence reigns all around. An outside thermometer indicates 12°C after a relatively quiet atmospheric front passing and the wind blows from the opposite side in contrast to yesterday. A radar images animation shows clearly the rain zone far on the east side now and pilots sleeping late are in danger of an unexpected flying today.

"And what about to spend this day without any alcohol?" one of Czech girl-pilots dares to propose but we have to say her name is not Martina Pospisilova definitely.

A station on Snezka hill reports a speed of wind 20m/s from the north side and that's why organizers postpone today's decision to twelve o'clock. This is a period long enough for one sad pilot who eventually succeeds in finding under a table his lost wallet with a picture of the wife (his) and the last savings (her). Maybe this is why he doesn't want his name to be published and tries to knock me down steep wooden stair with friendly advice: "Write about yourself, wisenheimer!" I'm sure he certainly know I have no wife and I don't make use of any wallet.

Clouds above the Krkonose Mountains melt very slowly and a cloudbase hangs far too low at noon. The next day off is claimed at a postponed briefing and sports-minded pilots are going to go up to Plane later in the afternoon. Thus nothing changes in overall ranking this day.
