"Be prepared for temperatures above tropical thirty this weekend," newsreader warns in the morning while an outside thermometer in front of Pension Kukacka points to 5°C this morning, luckily above zero point. A clear sky, the bright sun and a light variable wind seem to be perfect for today's task and the motivation to reach the goal at Studenec, where the evening party is going to go ahead, will be definitely high. In view of a light southwest wind the organizers choose Medvedin taking off point and 36.7km long task is declared at briefing at noon. The goal will be set at Studenec village, of course. There are "halusky", "strapacky" and beer prepared for everybody who reaches the goal flying, driving or even walking. The route spans three points - Lysa hora, Plane, Strazne and Hrabacov and a start window is open at half past noon already.

"If you rise up to a cloudbase, forget about landing definitely," older and well experienced pilot Frantisek Pavlousek gives advice for young and hopeful ones and hurries to get his glider ready in a fear of the delicious meal at Studenec getting cold. As it will come to light later he will reach the goal behind "U Visnaku" restaurant beside a local cemetery really as the first. Roman Skokan probably smells warm dinner in the air too and takes off immediately after the start window opening as the first. Although he rises up to a cloudbase on the east side of a taking off point, the others follow him only half an hour later.

 Supposedly a landing - a fall, definitely!

But the southwest wind grows stronger and the first leg of the route becomes very difficult when the cloudbases form in a height of 1900 meters only. Eighteen pilots are forced to land before the minimum distance line gradually.

"I had lots of ideas today except for the last one shortly before my landing," Petra Krausova values her performance self-critically. She prefered smoked meat of her friend on 32nd kilometer at Martinice to a reaching the goal and that was why some pilots with amateur-looking harnesses flew over her today.

"Bring some shots or go away!" Roman Skokan is run out of the table in a pub by those who didn't secceeded in reaching the goal today and their results were much worst.

But the winner of today's task is Frantisek Pavlousek in time of one hour and thirty minutes, Karel Vrbensky finished seven minutes behind him and Jan Kupka arrived five minutes later. Milan Masarik, Roman Skokan and Indian pilot Adie Kumar landed in the goal much later then.

The leader of the competition Frantisek Pavlousek increased his lead in the overall ranking after this day, Jan Kupka moved to the second position instead of Petra Krausova and Karel Vrbensky is the third.
