Tuesday 08.08.06
It's morning 9.10 a.m. and pilots receive collective SMS "Weatherbriefing at 9 a.m. in HQ and Taskbriefing at the take off point at 11 a.m.". Yesterday's weather forecast of the rainy day didn't work out and indications of strong wind can be seen in the almost clear sky. Also two parked tandems, which we saw from the cableway, predicts nothing favourable. Unfortunately, the wind blows from the opposite side.

Christian Maurer and Helmut "Heli" Eichholzer show their skills above the take off area. At first it looks they intend to frighten their rivals. But they don't succeed in landing even if they are extraordinarily skilful.

Organisers publish destinations of PWC 2007 at the briefing. It's sure it will be: Japan - Tamba (April 7th-14th), Spain - Ager (June 2nd-9th), Italy - Cornizzolo (July 14th-21st) and Argentina - Loma Lisa (October 13th-20th).

It makes us a bit crazy

Organisers still consider Bulgaria - Montagne (August) and Turkye - Kayseri (September).

Eventually, the task is cancelled even before it had been declared because of strong turbulencies and the high speed of wind along the valley. Everybody is suggested not to fly! "I feel fair pain in my legs from this way of flying," Karel Vrbensky evaluates the situation. Every pilot has to walk with his backpack about half kilometer from the cableway station daily. Just young and hopefull Swiss pilots and Valics brothers from Slovenia take off today.

Most of Czech pilots take advantage of today's marvelous weather and climb up the mountains. Crowds of visitors look up to waterfalls, rocky peaks and glaciers. I personally think that even an obstinate objector of any walking will succumb to it and will go for a short walk at least.
